Try Template Monster
So. You’ve set up your WordPress blog, played around with a few free themes and found a few plugins you like. You’ve developed a bit of a following, but now you’d like something a little more professional or unique than that World of Warcraft theme.
Now, you have a huge number of choices here. You can hire a professional WordPress theme designer. That’ll run you around $1500 for a good theme. You can take a free theme and tweak it. Some themes are easier to tweak than others, and you’ll probably need to know how to code in html, php, and css. You can find a designer of free WordPress themes and bargain with the designer. Or, you can go to Template Monster and search through the themes they offer.
WordPress theme designers upload their themes to Template Monster’s website and set a price. Currently, the lowest price for general use is $45, but new themes are uploaded constantly and you may find an even better deal. In addition, themes that have not yet been purchased often have an option to buy that theme exclusively (meaning, no one else can buy it and use it), often for as low as $400-$600. That’s much cheaper than commissioning a theme, though less customizable.
If you like the range of offers, but not any specific theme, Template Monster even offers a “wishbox” where you can discuss what you’d like to see. While they don’t guarantee that a theme will be released to your specifications, if one is released, they’ll notify you once it’s available.
In all, it’s a great way to give your website a professional look, brand your image, and increase your site rank without a lot of cash.
